This workshop with Las Witchas Collective will explore the memories and knowledge our grandmothers have left in us to create a collective story-telling chair. As migrants, personal memories, especially the relationships with our ancestors, are what keep our roots and connections to our homeland alive. They are an important part of our identity as a community.
All ages are welcome to come along, bring their own memories and use their imagination to create images or poetic lines. We will then transfer them onto the chair using patchwork and embroidery or paint. We will also facilitate a short story telling/ poetry workshop to start the process.
This free workshop will be lots of fun and spiced up with Afro Latin music by Las Witchas!
Location: Bruce Castle Museum & Archive, Lordship Lane N17 8NU
No need to book, just turn up. All ages welcome, no previous experience necessary.
