Ghostly goings on....
Bruce Castle is said to be haunted by a lady named Constantia Lucy.
Constantia lived at Bruce Castle over 300 years ago. She was married to a man called Henry Hare, 2nd Lord Coleraine. It is said Henry did not like his wife and made her stay in the rooms upstairs and then locked her up in a small room below the clock.
The story says that one night, Constantia escaped from the small room by climbing out of the window and onto the balcony at the front of the building. This was the last time she was ever seen alive.

Who left the window open...?
Nobody knows what happened to Constantia. Her husband said she was buried in nearby All Hallows Church but her name is missing from the burial records!
Some people think Constantia never left Bruce Castle.......
Every year as the fearful night comes round, in November, the wild form can be seen......
