Bruce Castle Museum and Archive welcomes all visitors and aims to be as accessible as possible to meet your needs
It is free to visit the Museum and Archive.
For those who would like to visit the Museum at less busy times, we recommend after 3pm as a quieter time on days when we are open for general visits.

There is same-level access to the Museum via the front entrance, and also a ramped entrance from the car park. Both entrances have intercoms should you require any assistance from a member of staff.
All ground and first floor galleries, exhibitions, search room, lecture hall, education room and toilets are accessible for wheelchairs, buggies and those with walking aids.
There are 24 stairs or a stair lift to the first floor – staff are on hand to help you.
Seating is available throughout the Museum.
There are two accessible unisex toilets located on the ground floor and another on the first floor.
Assistance dogs are welcome.
One bay in our car park is designated for disabled users, situated near the ramp access into the building. There is an intercom located by the door which is accessed by the ramp. Press the buzzer to let a member of staff know you have arrived. If you require assistance in advance of your visit, please call us and we will be happy to help you further: 020 8489 4250 (option1).

Large print information, raised plans and tactile picture of the building, magnifying glass and torch can be requested at the main Reception Desk.
Touch tours around the galleries is also possible. Please contact us before your visit to ensure staff are available should you require support.

There are small cafés near to the Museum in Lordship Lane. Alternatively, the Pavilion café can be found in the south-east corner of Bruce Castle Parkand is open for general visitors.
Picnic areas are located in Bruce Castle Park.
Teas and coffees are available at the Museum’s talks event programme, special events, tours and for room hire events.
